SILENT MEDITATION TIMER
You can use Mindful One as a silent meditation timer of any duration. Simply create a playlist with the singing bowl sound of your choice as the starting tone and finishing tone, with as much silence in between as you like.
MEDITATION FOCUS SOUND
These calming sounds are perfect for meditation as they help to keep your mind in the moment and free from unwanted thought. In fact, you may find these sounds easier to focus on than your breathing or a mantra.
MEDITATION ATMOSPHERE
Rather than using the sounds as a focal point for your meditation, you can simply play them to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere they provide. So if you prefer to focus on your breathing or a mantra while you meditate, you can do that while quietly playing your favourite singing bowl tones in the background.
MINDFUL AWARENESS
If you wish to practice mindful awareness during daily life, Mindful One can be very helpful. Simply use these sounds as a reminder to keep you in the present moment and prevent your mind from wandering. Mindful One is very flexible and allows you to play reminder sounds at various intervals: Once every 30 seconds, 45 seconds, 60 seconds, or 100 seconds. You can also choose longer intervals of 5 minutes, 10 minutes or more.
SLEEP AID / INSOMNIA RELIEF
The calming, repetitive sounds in Mindful One are quite hypnotic and can really help you get to sleep, especially the sounds included in “Mindful One – Deep”.
Try a sound like the “Deep Rest Singing Bowl”. Select a track with a spacing you like and play it on repeat at a quiet volume. All the sounds in Mindful One are looped, so you can play these soothing sounds all night without interruption. Lie on your back (or your favourite sleeping position) and breathe slowly and deeply. Listen to the sound of the singing bowl and follow it as it fades to silence. As you become more relaxed, feel free to let your concentration wander and simply let the sound of the singing bowl linger in the background as you drift off.
RESCUE SOUNDS TO EASE ANXIETY & STRESS
In times of anxiety, stress or overwhelm, Mindful One can help by giving you a calming sound that you can use at short notice to provide some fast relief. Take a 5 minute break, listen to one of these calming sounds and take some deep breaths to rebalance yourself – body and mind.
YOGA / REIKI TIMER
Mindful One is a perfect accompaniment to Yoga or Reiki if you’d like to hear a pure sound at regular intervals to let you know when it’s time for the next position.
BEAUTIFUL MORNING ALARM
If you’re someone who likes the Zen purity of singing bowls and bells, then you will love waking up to these beautiful sounds.
PEACEFUL SOUNDS FOR HOME
There’s no doubt that the sounds in Mindful One are very atmospheric, peaceful and pure. Playing them at home provides a lovely alternative to music when you want to “lift the vibe” around you.
DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS
How to Create a Custom Meditation Playlist with Mindful One
Creating playlists with Mindful One is easy and fun. My advice? Be prepared to experiment with various sounds and create multiple playlists to try. Depending on your mood, you may prefer different singing bowls, different tone intervals and different meditation durations from one day to the next.
Step 1:
Browse a few different singing bowl sounds and choose one that is relaxing to you. You’ll be focusing on this sound during your meditation to help keep your mind from wandering off.
Step 2:
How long do you wish to meditate? Every track in Mindful One is exactly 5 minutes long, so if you wish to meditate for 20 minutes, then you’ll create a playlist with 4 tracks. If you wish to meditate for 45 minutes, then your playlist will include 9 tracks, and so on.
Step 3:
Choose how often you wish to hear the singing bowl tones. For example, if you wish to hear a tone every 30 seconds, then choose a track with 10 tones. If you would like to hear a tone once per minute, then choose a track with 5 tones. What is the right choice for you? Here are some guidelines…
The purpose of the tones is to help keep you focused. Beginner meditators may prefer more frequent tones, whereas more experienced meditators may prefer more space between tones. However, there is no right or wrong choice. Feel free to experiment with different tone spacings to find out what works for you.
Keep in mind that you can create a playlist that changes the spacing of tones over time. For example, you can start the first 5 minutes of your meditation with a track that plays 10 tones, followed by a track that plays 7 tones, and then another track with 5 tones. In this way the tones help to keep you focused during the initial stages of your meditation, and then open up more space as you become more relaxed and clearer. Use them for as much or as little support as you need. You can also add tracks of pure silence to your playlist if you wish to meditate without the singing bowl tones for a while.
Step 4:
Now you’re ready to meditate. Set a comfortable quiet volume on your speakers or headphones and start your playlist. Listen to the sound of each singing bowl tone as it slowly fades. Be present and concentrate on the sound, but without straining. This is mindful listening.
Each singing bowl tone is a bridge from sound to silence. Allow the sound to fill your awareness and remain present even after the sound has faded out completely.
